At Tee Wreckx, we don't just print for the sake of printing. We study your design idea and choose a printing method that brings it to life best. That way, you can have a custom tee that's true to color, vibrance, detail.
We offer two different printing processes-- traditional screen printing (for the majority of our products) and digital printing. Let's look into the basics of these two.
Screen T-Shirt Printing
Screen printing involves a stencil (printers call this a "screen") which is then used to apply layers of ink on the fabric. Each color is applied one at a time using a different stencil or pattern. With these colors combined, we come up with a vivid t-shirt print.
Digital T-Shirt Printing
Digital printing is a much newer process that involves computer processing. Your artwork is first processed by a computer and then printed on a sticker-like material. Next, it is transferred to your product (t-shirt, tote bag, etc.).
Vinyl is one of the most commonly used types of digital printing among famous clothing brands because of its high-quality finish and durability. Each printing process has its strengths, and our artwork team will weigh these when deciding what method to use for your graphic tee.
Which method is cheaper for graphic tee bulk orders?
Screen printing is the best option for designs that require a high level of vibrancy, like when you're printing on dark colored shirts or for specialty products. The ink in screen printing is applied thicker than digital printing, which results in stark and bright colors even on dark shirts.
The minimum order quantity on screen printed items is higher because of the extra materials and labor time associated with this t-shirt printing design.

Which method is cheaper for low quantity orders of custom tees?
Digital printing is best used for graphic tees that require a high level of detail, and orders of a much smaller quantity. The fact that the digital printer does not use screens allows for a photographic print, with much more detail than traditional screen printing. As the ink is applied thinner (to achieve such detail), digital printing is better used on lighter colored custom tee shirts to allow the design to shine through. The fact that the design is processed and printed digitally allows for a quantity of one since there are no screens or any physical setup.
There are many benefits to digital printing. You just need to know when you should choose it over screen printing.
What t-shirt printing design is Tee Wreckx best at?
At Tee Wreckx, we are proud to stand behind each printing method, 100% of the time. While we are currently working to enable more products for digital printing, the products available on the website have been thoroughly tested and approved. We are printing perfectionists, and will not enable products for either method that do not result in the best final product. Artwork printed by both methods goes through the same process of being reviewed and proofed by our expert artists.
Just remember, digital printing is best if you want a cheaper price for low quantities while screen printing is best for higher quantity custom tee shirt orders.
